Hey guys! I'm here to chat with you about a new mobile greeting card option that I tried recently called Treat. Before I begin, I was given a credit to their store to try for free, though I was not required to give a positive review. While it was great to try risk free, my opinions are my own and I would not recommend a service I didn't support.

So let's talk greeting cards.

Winter Embroidery - Lily's Family Quilt Square

Hi! 

I'm back sharing another square from our "Family Quilt" that is in progress. I really need to trace another square and get working- it's been almost two weeks since I finished this one and I have yet to really nail down plans for the next one. 

I guess I just got busy sewing for baby& trying to catch up on scrap booking Lily's year being a 5 year old. I realized the other day she'll be turning 6 in May and I have yet to put ONE PHOTO in her 5yr. old album. How sad! I also ordered another copy of "The Belly Book" to fill in for this baby. Thank goodness I've been using an iphone app to track different aspects of the pregnancy. I thought to myself, if this baby is a girl she will be awfully sad looking at the pathetic amount of memories captured of her time in my belly. Is it just me or am I the only one who thinks that girls appreciate the memory albums more?

As my blog shows, he's never really benefitted from all the time and effort I put into sewing. 

He's a big reason I get to have free time in order to reach my last minute deadlines (you know the ones that come each week).

I've been working on Lily's birthday outfit a lot lately. Her 5th birthday party is an Alice in Wonderland Tea party where she will be Alice (of course!).

Hello, I have been very busy this week. 

I was also computer free for a bit. It wasn't a challenge or anything. Ok, it was a challenge, but I didn't GIVE the challenge to myself. My son who slobbers on anything semi-interesting kept nabbing all of my electronics cords and finally shorted a few of them out. Of course they were my mac and iphone cords because that's just how life works when you aren't ready for it. Right? Right. 

I have been busy working on my daughters spring outfits. I finished drafting and creating the first sleeveless button up. Now I've moved on to the first pair of knickers. I plan on making a couple of each of them, since they definitely fit my style. 

Also, it was my son's first (FIRST!) birthday on Wednesday. Ugh, I was just falling apart the morning of. Crying, sad, and completely feeling like I had lost my baby. Today, I feel a little better. I still don't want him to grow up yet but I'm taking it slow and trying to spend extra time snuggling and playing with him. I also need to buckle down on his baby book.  I keep *making it a point* to do all of these things.

Hello, happy hump day from Iowa. 

As I may have mentioned before, I have a lot of events happening this month (ooh the wedding reception i'm attending in a week will yield the most amazing photos, i'll be sure to post!) ... &all of this has kept my crafting on high gear. 

This afternoon while my biggest little monster napped rolled around in her bed, I created a few cards! After an hour she tip toed out of her room stating she had "thought she heard someone saying her name... oh- no? well.. what are you doing??" &so i agreed to let her quietly craft with me while littlest monster slept.

Before we went to Vegas (woot woot // I'll smash that later!), I ordered a bunch of instagram pictures. I really looove how they turn out from postalpix.

Again, I used pre-patterned cards& added some fun embellishments to them. Super simple and fun. 

I love the paper places stamp, though I can't remember who makes it. :/

Yay, I finally found the cord that links my camera to my computer. 

Photos are back up and running! 

Lately I have been making a lot of these birth announcements. It's showing its positive and negatives. They are a ton of fun, BUT they made me realize I have no number stamps?? HOw is this possiBle? 

I had to back-track and find a better way to make them, here's my first ones:

St. Patrick's Day is tomorrow, which is such a fun holiday. I wish I could be drinking a pint with the gang but it's well worth waiting till the next occasion! Instead, I have been channeling my creativity into a card for my grandmother in law, who's 90th birthday is tomorrow. yep- she's a lucky St. Patty's Day baby. 

CCL Happy Birthday Card Swap

Just a quick update since I was really excited to receive my package from Deb over at CCL (creating the crafty life: linked on the right of my page). This was the first swap I have participated in, & it was so much fun. Since everyone seems to have received their packages I wanted to quickly show you 

one of the cards I sent to the group. I'd love to share the second but I realized I didn't photograph it! (aagh, how frustrating)

Once again thank you so much Donna, Paula, Marie, & Sandi for their lovely creations. It was such a fun package to get!

Quick Simple Clean Birthday Card

Hi& Happy Friday!!

Even though I'm not working, i absolutely love the weekends. It's my 2 days to have the family home and no house work. Since I'm still waiting patiently for baby boy to make his move& come I spent today making a few birthday cards for April birthdays. 

I love using layers/etc but today I wanted to work a bit on keeping things REALLY simple. &I don't think I could have kept it any more simple than this!  

To add some icing without putting too
much color, I used glossy accents

4 weeks until Archer is due to come& what am I busying myself with?

Oh, there are a lot of things. The car seat& stroller set came yesterday& thanks to the hubby it's put together and waiting to be wheeled about. 

Finished his blanket and matching boppy cover. 

But yesterday I looked at my [wonderful] birthday calendar/card organizer and found that in March alone we have some 5 birthdays. 

So I pulled out all of my supplies and started to make cards hoping that it will curb any frustration for when he first gets here so I'll be able to relax and spend much needed time with our little man.

Personalized Birthday Presents//

Happy Birthday to a wonderful young lady I know, Mk. She's my daughters older half sister. So, the big 12! I must say this age puts me in my place. I was a bit stumped on what to get her. She's an edgy girl, I wouldn't say a tom boy but definitely loves skulls and chucks and skateboarding. 

First I made her a winter headband. I had made one for lily, which she seems to enjoy quite a bit. 

This time I used freezer paper to customize the headband with her nickname. A little E6000 and rhinestones jazzed it up.

On the inside I lined it with skull fleece. 

I went a little bit more girly with the bag, I would call this my decoy. She probably thought I got her a bunch of skirts&bows.   :)

I found a super awesome wallet on this blog ... it features the old school cassette tape. I am proud to say that even in high school i loved making mix tapes! 

I didn't photograph the inside once it was finished but its lined with felt. How awesome is that though?

Once again used E6000 to put bling on it. I was thrilled to discover the gems fit perfectly into all of the holes where the screws were. 

She was really excited and started putting all her birthday money into it. A good indicator I think.
