Plaid Prepster Pullover

So it seems that with how busy I've been lately that I've solidly been making just {one} garment each week. Honestly, I'm ok with that. It's letting me relax a bit but I still feel like I'm making some progress on the kids fall wardrobe. I have a sneaking suspicion that Lily's Halloween costume is going to be a stress though, since it's quickly approaching and one piece a week just won't cover it.
Until then, I'm not letting myself focus on that and instead I'm really proud & excited about how my Prepster Pullover turned out.

This is a Blank Slate Pattern by Melly Sews. I have quite a few of her patterns and have really enjoyed each of them. I won this particular one a while back along with a ton of other patterns. I planned to make a summer short sleeve version but sadly it got pushed to the bottom of my list and never happened. I say sadly because now that I've made this one, I feel like it would have been just as cute (if not more) in a short sleeve version with cargo shorts. ::sigh:: Next year, right?

I used a super soft woven shirting material for it that I purchased a while ago at Denver Fabrics. Although I'm trying to be more thoughtful in my fabric purchases now, I'm glad this was in my stash since it will go so well with the rest of his wardrobe. It was a double sided print& I think the blue checkers look super cute peeking out from the rolled cuff.

As many of you have found with your children, the photos of him actually wearing it are hard to shoot.
He jets around the house from one activity to another usually yelling CHOO CHOo! or something along those lines. It's all very cute to watch, but not easy to photograph.

I finally caught a decent one of him playing peek-a-boo in the closet. I usually don't allow him to do this (fingers + hinges = OUCH) but for you guys... anything.
Well, that about finishes it up. I have such a long list of *needs* for fall, I'm sure you all are feeling the pressure as well. (If not don't tell me, I would like to believe everyone is as strapped for time as I am, k thanks)

I hope to see you back here Wednesday when I'll have a round-up of IG photos to share.

    1. I'll have to pop over and take a look at it! I almost peed my pants the other night when my husband had him eating ketchup in it. It would have made me so sad to see it stained!
