KCW :: Day 5

I'm going to start this one off with a confession....
If this skirt hadn't taken me like 45 minutes of completely interrupted sewing, then I wouldn't have posted today. That would have stuuuuunk. So, I'm glad I realized my time constraints up front and opted to work on something quick and easy.

So without further blabber, her is the Little Mommy skirt.

I quickly measure from her pant waist to where she wanted it to sit (below the knee, I had to shoot down the ankle length she initially wanted. I swear this girl likes to dress like she's amish!). By the way, I have nothing but respect for the amish, I simply understand her clumsiness and that a skirt that long is going to have issues. So we settled on a conservative, below the knee skirt, with *pockets*.

I also created this top with a pattern I drafted. It was based off of a shirt given to lily that had these front ruffles. I fell in love with the look and couldn't get it out of my head. I thought adding length, making it sleeveless, removing a collar, and adding the elastic waist would make it so sophisticated. & after tediously drafting it, I LOVE it! Too bad it's one of her least favorite shirts. I can't even tempt her with the heart shaped buttons most days. It's all about long dresses for this girl.

Only after I mentioned how much she looked like a little mom, did she warm up to the idea of wearing them together. lol
Tis life though, and I will likely keep these as a set for semi-formal occasions. I don't like to pick her clothing for her unless we're doing something special. She's a free spirit and I like to let her fly.

Have a great weekend, it's friday canigettahellyeah!
