Tiny Things in Mustard and Black

After making the mustard and black Caroline Party Dress for the store, I kept the smaller cuts sitting out and just kind of eyed them. I really love the look of black and mustard together for both boys and girls. Anyways, after letting the fabric sit for something like a week I finally used it...

Giveaway Winner !

This season on Project Run and Play has been a doozy. Not only did I sew along, but my good friend Karly from Paisley Roots was asked to be a REAL contestant! I was over the moon for her!

Then, to top it all off, she won

You can imagine the excitement I held for her. I mean, we've both been following the competition as sew-a-longers for many seasons and have really bonded over our mutual love to sew. I simply cannot describe how proud I am of her talent and heart. Each week we'd see the looks go up and I would be rooting her on and oggling all of her work.

To be a part of her "Thank You Giveaway" was a really fun way to end the PR&P season!

KCW Day 1

Whoa
KCW and PR&P at the same time. This is a sewing challenge overload! I'm really blanking on my PR&P look right now. The clothes that I have to upcycle aren't calling to me in the least. I started to upcycle a pair of jeans for my son but the legs are way too baggy. I'm just not feeling like they're worth finishing.

So when I was reminded that it was also day 1 of KCW I felt free - free to sew things that I wanted to sew, not just the upcycle challenge that was bogging me down. So, yesterday I got on creating a swap gift for another Iowa mommy who is due in February. I had contacted her on my IG and offered to send her over some handmade goodies. Then, to my pleasant surprise she messaged me back saying she'd like to trade handmade items. I was over the moon looking at her websites where she sells dolls and digital cards. I've taken a few courses on how to create my own cards/announcements but technical things are difficult for me to learn online and I didn't seem to master the process like I'd hoped to.

Tiny Gifts :: Bibs & Newborn Peasant Dress

I have been doing lots of sewing, as always. So why has the blog been so quiet?

Well, this month I was happy to be asked by quite a few bloggers to write guest posts, and many of the garments I've been creating are for those posts or the warm spring days we just haven't seen in Iowa lately.

After taking a break from a larger project, I wanted to use some of the fabrics I won from Alida Make's "Calling all Kids" series. I had received a fat quarters bundle from Glam Fabrics, which boasted some beautiful prints. I'm not a quilter (yet) so I needed to find other small projects that were worthy it.

I chose to first make a few bibs. I keep these in a small bin to use as gifts for all my baby toting friends.
