KCW check in

I thought I would just jump in with what I've been making during KCW.
If  you didn't read my first KCW post go HERE to see why I'm still trying to make up for lost time.

Lucky for me, I was able to start sewing again Thursday rather than Friday like I had previously expected. First, I used the bubble shorts pdf pattern from peekaboo pattern shop to make these pink& striped shorts. I have been working on my Lily's spring/summer wardrobe& this fabric was the foundation for half of it. I blogged earlier with the skirt& top that was in this color scheme HERE. It's really soft& pretty but then the black& white jersey gives it an unexpected pop that I'm drawn to.

The anchor was screen-printed on with freezer paper& acrylic paint. Afterwards I used yellow floss to embroider around it.
I also added the little yellow mini pom poms to the bottom, it was graciously wrapped around the bundle of fabric I won from Alida Makes.
The patterns are all free which is pretty awesome. The dress is a Newborn Peasant Dress by SewmuchAdo & the tiny Diaper Cover was generously posted by Dana Made It.

I'm also making another pair of the bubble shorts in pink with the help of my big sister who is in town. She's intrigued by the whirlwind &likes the pink pair, so we are taking our time as we do these so I can give her a crash course.

I'll be back with a wrap up at the end of KCW. Hopefully with a few more items to show you!

    1. I'm definitely a lover of all things nautical, &I especially love using the theme with unexpected colors rather than always going with Navy blue&red&white. Thanks Jen, you are such an awesome motivator!
