The Ms.Pacman Dress for Sew Geeky

I was on vacation last week and couldn't help but sneak onto blogger to check in on everyone.

&I'm so glad I did!!

Did you guys know that Max California & Sew Chibi are doing a new series called Sew Geeky?
You probably do, huh.

Well, I was so frustrated that I couldn't create anything RIGHT THEN.
So, when I got home my hubs and I sat down and looked at all the awesome new patterns I had won during the Fabric Matching competition. He looked through my fabric and threw out ideas (really great ones too!) & together we came up with an awesome design using the Ivy Dress from Peekaboo Pattern Shop . <--- click to visit their shop

I won a 5 pack of patterns & it is what Lily picked for herself. <3
She's completely thrilled with it.

The Ms. Pacman dress is made from knits. I've used that black and white striped fabric for so many garments. It's seriously 1/2 of my kids summer wardrobe? lol

I used it for the bodice& the bottom is a black knit from Joann's.

The FUN is in the skirt where I drew and appliqued the characters. It starts with Ms.Pacman eating her dots& she's chased by all the ghosts.

Those guys were quite the task. I hand embroidered their eyes which took the longest.
Lily was motivating me along the way.

By motivating I mean asking me "If you work hard and tried your best tonight could you be done so I could wear it tomorrow?"

Did I mention that she plays Ms.Pacman on her ipod?
It was her 5th Birthday present& she loves it. Probably too much!

I've downloaded games; some learning and some classics.
Next I promised to put her favorite songs on it.

For now I think the dress will suffice. She danced around for the photo shoot & I promised she could wear it tomorrow.

Hope you all have a lovely night,
I'm off to bed.

    1. It's got lots of geeky goodness sewn right in! Now I will be moving on to a more serious project, a flower girl dress for a family member. Still very fun, but I needed to get my wiggles out (so to say) after being gone.
      Thanks for the love lady!

    1. Thanks Lady! You know from instagram but Archer's been getting all the "sewing" love lately so it was important to make her something she would love. So glad you got a kick out of it!

  5. I love this dress! It brings back memories from my childhood. My dad would take me to the arcade, and he'd play Pacman for hours. He didn't let me play though! lol Anyhoo, super cute dress. I'm pinning it!
