Project Run& Play Wk. 2 Candy Challenge

Whew.
Guys, this challenge was so tough for me. I'm a practical clothing maker, which doesn't work so well when "candy" comes to mind. Candy? Clothing? Add that to my tendency to choose neutral or muted colors and you see my problem.

I actually considered just skipping this week.
It. Was. SO. Hard.

So hard that I finished my whole "Mad For Plaid" challenge outfit and only once it was done decided I shouldn't be lame and went back to the drawing board for the Candy Challenge.

Saffron Twirl Dress by Zafarani Designs; mini flip

Good morning!!

I have been quiet for SUCH a long time because my computer has been in the shop being fixed (sad face). No, it's not fixed but I found a dinosaur computer of my husbands (probably from the late 80's) and decided I can't live without access to a computer ANY LONGER. Talk about first world problems. I feel lost and uninspired when I can't check in on what everyone is doing& can't download or print my pdf patterns. AAAAGH!
They say distance makes the heart grow fonder, well technologically this rang true for me.
I missssssed you guys!

SO, without further adieu, my version of the Saffron Twirl Dress! <--click to view her Etsy page!

(minus the cool edits since ye old dinosaur has no editing programs)

I was super lucky to pattern test this BEAUTIFUL dress. It rocks a v neck front with a stunning open back that makes it great for special occasions.
The sash comes in two sizes, a shorter& longer length. I used the long length for the big bow look.
To emphasize the gorgeous flow from neckline to back, I added a ribbon detail to the edge.

Grey & Bows for Summer (Dress)

Have I ever told you guys that my least favorite part of blogging is ...
writing a heading for my post? I can never decide whether to keep it serious so I can recognize it later (and so you can easily see what the post is about) or if I should lean towards funny or try and think of a good pun or a hint to entice the reader... Eh, whatever. I think I probably find that middle point, you know the awkward one.

Moving past that, I was chatting with a lovely group of ladies about sewing yesterday because I was in a predicament.
I have kind of run out of things to sew my kids right now. How horrific.
I mean, I have projects that could get done, don't get me wrong. Curtains could be made for the master bedroom, probably could use a few new throw pillows for the front room, etc etc. Those things have to wait because we just finished vacation ($$$) and I'm not willing to go run out and buy more fabric to do them.
Or to try and actually make a choice on WHAT fabric I want for them.
You know, basic procrastination with a pinch of justification.

So I finally came to the conclusion (with their help), that I should try another me project.
I bought the worlds softest material almost a month ago along with this pattern:

2013 Spring Wardrobe // Lily

Afternoon!
Before we take the kids to the circus, I thought I would drop in and show you what I have been up to lately.
Well, some of what I have been up to.

I keep alternating between birthday clothing (for lily's themed bday party in May) and spring wardrobe. Sprinkle in a few newborn presents and some fun projects and you've got my general movements in the last two weeks.

Here  is the accumulation of lily's spring wardrobe at this time.

CCL "Take Me Away" Blog Hop with*Blog Candy

Hey all! Hope you are maneuvering through the blog hop with ease!

For my :vacation themed: project I chose to create a mini album for a our first family vacation since the new baby has arrived. We'll be heading off to Colorado & California to visit family members in September. I wanted this album to be photo ready.

I also chose not to bind the album until photos were put inside. It makes layering & any sewing much easier.

CAS Fathers Day Card

Back again and ready to share a Father's Day Card I put together once I got my "Its A Man's World" stamp set from Sweet Stamp Shop. Truly though, this card came to mind before I ever ordered the set. I set eyes on its cute little bow ties& my mind went crazy with all the cute stuff I could do with it.
This is just the first one I have put into action.

In fact, if my ATG tape refills were here I'd probably be having a crafty day putting together lots of cards. (I've resorted to cutting everything out and laying them to wait)

I just adore how well these bow ties stamped to pattern paper
giving them lots of life!

Tiny Valentines Hair Bows

Was working on quite a few projects today ... making a new valentines day dress for Lily (I just couldn't get the arm holes large enough to be comfortable//lesson learned), valentines day bows, and a CCL birthday card swap.

The bows turned our so cute.
I decided that I would share them with everyone. <3

this pink & black one is oh so lovely.
