Project Run & Play Week 2: Vacation Theme

Alright, week 2. 

You know Lily's favorite colors (pink&purple, duh), and you know she's crazy particular about what she wears, so when I saw THIS PIN on pinterest and loved the pants- I asked her if she'd wear them. She assured me that she would as long as they were the bright colors that were pictured. At Joann's I was able to locate a pastel-ish pink and yellow, and so the pink was purchased.

The last two years we've taken a family vacation to California where we visit family and the ocean. It's been so wonderful and I can't wait to go back. I doubt that will be this year with the new baby and house, but it's certainly not off my list. 

Training Underpants: Using a free 2t pattern and tutorial

Training undies are so cute! 

I went searching for a simple and free training underwear pattern for Archer to wear so when we leave the house on short trips he can practice his big boy skills of telling me when he has to potty. I liked this pair especially (originally posted by Lemonwood Clock) because it used burp rags as a center piece to absorb better if an accident were to happen. I had just been gifted a bunch of burp rags and even though they work great for well, burp rags- I grabbed two big ones that had small stains to use for this. I think I'll still have plenty left for the new baby, there were quite a few. Another bonus? Along The Mom Road was nice enough to add to the tutorial by creating a printable 2t underwear pattern. 

Just the size I needed.

PR&P wk 1: Put Me In The Zoo (FAIL)

I completely intended to participate with the wk. 1 theme of Project Run and Play: Put Me In The Zoo. Seriously guys, I did. I even created the "outfit" that I wanted. "What's the problem?" you may be asking yourself.  

The outfit was a total fail. I hate it. Yeah, hate is a strong word and I don't like to use it ALL THE TIME, but there are times when strong words are needed.

After making the mustard and black Caroline Party Dress for the store, I kept the smaller cuts sitting out and just kind of eyed them. I really love the look of black and mustard together for both boys and girls. Anyways, after letting the fabric sit for something like a week I finally used it...

Last season I found myself sewing up outfits last minute like, uh, every week. So this time around I'm getting a head start and doing some planning/sketching (what?!- yeah you read right) and even sewing some of the items up now. Who is this woman I'm becoming?

Update: The Shop & Life

Hey all, happy Tuesday? 

Not that Tuesday is all that special, but hopefully every day is a happy day, right? 

I've been puttering away getting items finished up to list in the shop, including a few Caroline Party Dresses. 

Surfer Slacks in Khaki and Navy Blue

Good morning! 

I'm rarely up before 6:30 am as I am pretty fond of sleeping but this morning Archer wasn't having it. He was up yelling before six so I pulled him into bed thinking it would give me at LEAST until 6:45 am to wake up. Instead, he poked me a while, demanded my blanket saying "It's MINE MINE MINE!", and told me the window was open. Anyways, I gave up and now here I am. So, good morning and I hope you had the chance to wake up leisurely this morning.
